Look what I got. :3 The Wangan Midnight manga, missing only the last three volumes. I cannot find this ANYWHERE on the web, fortunately our local Japanese import store had it for sale. :D

Anyway, this is a general discussion thread about the WM manga series, available as scanslations from NCW (New Comer of Wangan). It's an ongoing project, into the fourth volume as of now.

Isn't that what Vipah wanted to get at Shirokiya that one time? He only needed $10 or $20 more to buy it too. XD

Of course. Right after I got it, he said he'd kill me. And after that, he said one of his friends would kill both of us. Him for bringing me there, and me for buying it. xD

Cars. Lots and lots of cars. They go fast, too.

Crap, forgot about this thread.

There's gonna be a Wangan anime in Spring of '07. Lookin forward to it, and praying a group translates it.

^ yes, but more specifically... hoping that Live-eviL fansubs it. They've done a fawesome job with 4th Stage and now Death Note. I'd like to see some of that quality with Wangan too. Of course, there's other good subbers out there, but it seems like Live-eviL's niche to do something for an anime based on something illegal...

For some reason, they're not disclosing any information about the anime. All we know right now is that yes, it's still in production, and yes, it's still slated for Spring.

Correction: Spring is just beginning. You have to remember that when we say Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter, we're going by Japanese seasons, not everyone else. Japanese Spring starts usually end of March/beginning of April. Besides, Spring didn't officially start until...March. So...yeah, hush child.

Besides, a few concept images have been released, you just gotta know where to look.*

*Note: lol, stolen off of outlaw02 off NCW forums.

The characters look different than the manga (especially Akio) but I suppose it's an alright adaptation. They don't make much use of the engine noises as Initial D does, although I suppose the normal traffic sounds drown it out to some extent.

CG is smooth though.

LOL who needs subs when you have raws? I just watched the first episode and I noticed that the dood that works at the junkyard is most likely the dood that plays Takumi. Yeah, I notice these things. Same with Bob from Tenjou Tenge...anyways, yeah its pretty cool. Shima looks a bit gay though. I just hope the races will be epic.

It's the turtleneck.

Anyway, my major draw to the series (aside from the S30Z, lol) is the attention to detail. If you watch closely at the end of the first episode, you can actually see the tire shavings flying through the air.

Never mind, I just said that cause you couldn't see his face in the first episode. LOL his voice actor's the same as Takumi Fujiwara if you didn't notice yet. He IS a really common guy to do voice acting in anime.
The Devil Z's a biyotch!! It's still awesome though.
Erm. Does anyone have a link to a translated Wangan Midnight manga?

That site hasn't updated in awhile, you don't have one with all the translated manga?
