Also known as "The melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya", this anime was one of the best releases in 2006. I, myself never heard of it until a friend of mine was talking about it. I have read the manga and is currently downloading all the anime so I have no idea how different they are. So, did anyone else watch/read it? The manga, in my opinion, is horribly random. The plot is sort of like excel saga on crack and the story is VERY hard to follow. The characters are displayed nicely and develop as the story goes along.

Hmm, I began watching it and found out that the episodes were aired out of chronological order on purpose. First series i've seen that did that before...

Interesting use of random meme's viper.

i actually watched this anime. i think its pretty cool, although quite a bit random until it nears the end. and i love watching anime with horribly random plotlines that are hard to follow. if you didn't already know, its not lupus.

and the hints, they do nothing.

Unyo, it all really depends. There were two orders that it was released, Kyon (air date) and Haruhi (chronological order).

Kyon order was better. :)

Kyon order was better but a little harder to follow but was one of the only anime that ever released the episodes out of chronological order on purpose. Too bad the series was so short... especially when there are so many light novels that were released.

Yep, pretty sad that the series isn't a normal 26 episode series. The novels are excellent to read and very close to the anime if watched in the correct order.

WADDLES, YOU BETTAH FINISH >D

Yeah, they did it on purpose, they should be released in this order:
Episode 1
Mikuru Asahina's Adventure Episode 00
Episode 2
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya I
Episode 3
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya II
Episode 4
The Boredom of Haruhi Suzumiya
Episode 5
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya III
Episode 6
Remote Island Syndrome (Part 1)
Episode 7
Mysterique Sign
Episode 8
Remote Island Syndrome (Part 2)
Episode 9
Someday In The Rain
Episode 10
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya IV
Episode 11
The Day Of Sagittarius
Episode 12
Live Alive
Episode 13
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya V
Episode 14
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya VI

If you want to watch it with the puzzle pieces in the correct chronological order, it goes as so:
episode 2
episode 3
episode 5
episode 10
episode 13
episode 14
episode 4
episode 7
episode 6
episode 8
episode 1
episode 12
episode 11
episode 9

Ugh. I'm in love with this anime. Everything about it. The randomness, the characters, the delivery style...and most importantly, HIRANO AYA. If you haven't watched this yet, DO IT.
