hey everyone i was talkin wit sho and we think dc should have some new skins. ex: anime, game, manga themes. some nadeshico ss character theme skins. wat do u guyz think. any suggestions on wat kind of skins can b made?

Yep, Zetsu pretty much suggested game based (IIDX, Forza, Smash) and Nadeshico SS for each character, having their car/colors and stuff. I'm interested in making this work, does anyone else have any ideas?

New skins = win! As for themes... Anime themes are always fun. But you should also have neutral themes, like a metallic theme and maybe a dark theme.

1. Key word was 'SSBM', not 'single character from SSBM that nobody except two people on the planet like'
2. Neutral theme has been taken care of already, it's called 'DC-ish' or 'Shonen-ish'...

edit: also, speaking of neutral themes, I was thinking of making a SaL remembrance theme, more specifically its final skin (or any of them)... if you have the images for them, please share them with me as my backups aren't completely 100%....

Yeah, this is a good idea! Maybe for other games you can have a Halo one...have it set to be automatically loaded on the Halo aniversery days! that would be awesome. Halo = Nov 15 Halo 2 = Nov 9 Halo 3 = Sep 25 althogh I thinkit was released on different days in differet nplaces.
A beatmania one would be really cool too though...I'd like to see that. maybe you can make one for each style

Yeah.... in fact, we had a commemorative Halo 2 skin on SaL. We'll see.

If you have an idea for a skin, images I can use for it would be nice... post em up, but don't put em in [img] tags. Either hotlink or upload them.

I'm gonna start off with a IIDX one, because I think it will be great...and nobody else really plays enough IIDX other than me to bother to look for pictures.

Well, a lot of stuff actually. Look at all the images on the forum... there's table heading backgrounds, forum read/unread bullets, icons, buttons, etc.

schools a bit bizzy for the next few days, but if anything start work on an simple skin. i have 3 in mind: earthy colors (green/gray/brown), deeper blues, and maybe a red on black one. and maybe a green on black one, for the hax0r effect.

lol so much for my summer project, summer is almost done and I haven't done anything on the skins...Shonen-ish is pretty much good to go, just some strange things happening here and there (mainly on the profile portal). Which skin is everyone using, just out of curiosity?

ps. if anyone has any requests for skins, or wants to help, lemme know so I can distribute the work load.

I'm also using Shonen-ish. I would love to make a skin, but it seems really hard and getting all the colors and stuff...might be a pain.

It's not really the colors, it's the pretty much overwhelming amount of images you need to create if you want a completely original skin. There's at least 20...

This was a common problem we ran into back on SaL. Creating and uploading banners are one thing, but creating a fully original skin for a forum is rather time consuming and tedious. I'm not saying they're not great suggestions, but a lot of you need to realize that these things require a lot of work.

Maybe instead of creating completely new themes, we can have members submit some banners that work with one of the existing templates... we could make a contest out of it. :3

well if anyone hasn't noticed already, I'm working on a new skin based on the sixteenth IIDX game user interface. It's called Empress-ish, after IIDX16 Empress. Currently around 80% done, getting positive feedback so far so I think it's going good!

so, with the arrival of IPB3.0 comes the departure of all of the skins we've worked on. It's both a good and bad thing; sure, it was a lot of time spent, but now we get to start anew with a brand new interface and skin ideas.

as some of you may have noticed, there is a Shonen-ish Mk.II skin up. At the moment it's nothing more than IPB3.0 default with the banners stuck back on top, but soon I hope to make it a neutral skin just like the original Shonen-ish.
