it's been awhile since I made any kind of update to the site...or did anything in particular except update the few news or project threads.
anyway, I made a 'public' skin which is exactly the same as the default IPB skin except with ads on it. Hopefully this will help me make a few cents off of the guests or people who don't login.
D.C is still alive, at least in the sense that it is still here. it seems that it's become a sort of archive for projects but hopefully we can get the old users back in here.
ps. I won't complain if you click ads lol.

that's all good and stuff, but there is a little problem.
1. when signing in, it takes forever to get to the sign in page due to ad popups and click throughs.
2. one of the ads had a virus which avast detected and blocked.
other then that, it's fine cause the regular skin doesnt have it.

massive update! apparently when I wasn't looking, IPS did some work and came out with a whole new version of IPB. It's more web2.0-ish, so there's a lot of social networking type things going on. I just finished the upgrade, so check it out!
ps. I had to disable the blog hook on the index (ie. latest blog entries) since for some reason it will result in a fugly error on the index (Fatal error: Call to undefined method skin_blog_portal_x::recentEntries() in /blahblahblah/skin_boards.php on line 463). Don't know how to fix it, but disabling the hook makes it go away so that's what I'm gonna do lol.
